It's proven, over and over again, hard to stay up with everything that is going on with immigration news and such. Alas, I do what I can.
Yesterday I received news from causes.org notifying me that fellow Dreamer Rodrigo Padilla from Chicago was granted a stay in the U.S. at least for one more year, while his case is reviewed. Unfortunately, though, the attention and continued urgency has been passed on to Andrea Huerfano. She is also a fellow Dreamer and is in dire need of support helping her remain in the country.
Just today I also received news about the up-and-coming immigration reform bill that will be introduced by Rep. Luis Gutierrez in Congress, two days from today. Let's hope this time something radical does happen.
On another good news, I have learned that Judge Sotomayor has introduced the term "undocumented immigrant" in the Supreme Court, something that makes me hopeful that one day the term "illegal alien/immigrant", will be stored away only to be part of our history books.
The movement continues.
