12 Step Recovery Process for Conservative/Radical Republicans

While pondering about today's politics and political non-sense, I thought about what needs to happen to right-wing nuts and pundits so we can move on on the issue of immigration, race and discrimination. And so, I came up with this list of 12 Steps for Recovery.

Step 1: Admitting that you do not like people of color (You could not even bear to watch a Colors of Benetton commercial!).

Step 2: Admitting that you do not like others who enjoy life to the fullest and you can't, because the Bible say so.

Step 3: Admitting that we all came here uninvited and until you find the invitation (or Evite) the Native Americans made to the Pilgrims; I stand corrected.

Step 4: Admitting that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert speak more truthiness than Lou Dobbs, Glen Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sarah Palin, and all right-wind pundits put together.

Step 5: Admitting that you are afraid not from terrorist or undocumented immigrants, but your constituents finding out the skeletons in your closet.

Step 6: Admit to and renounce your addiction to big corporations, lobbyist and Wall Street.

Step 7: Admitting that change is constant and those kids you now call “anchor babies” will be the future Congress man and women; Gomez, Martinez, Garcia, Lopez, Sanchez, et al.

Step 8: Admitting that the immigration system is as failed as you would be on a Morality Index Scale test.

Step 9: Admitting your addiction to power and control which without, would make you another “Joe the plumber” landing you a job on FOX TV.

Step 10: Finally, admitting that there is a force bigger than you, me, and all that surrounds us. His name is Obama.
